William Henry Cole

Christmas 2005

Today is Thanksgiving... We have a lot to be thankful for... William Henry Cole springs to mind. Our continuing good health is always something to be happy about.
Our new house is always on our minds and how lucky we are to be blessed with the ability to keep it up. We have been busy around the house, the latest change was to take out the window in our bedroom and put in French doors. Of course, I had to build a veranda, (deck) to have someplace to go... and it sure helped working on the restoration. This is a big house and tall! Everything requires a ladder! We have put in 5 raised flower gardens, including a water garden. We had a vegetable garden last summer and have prepared it again for spring. fef
Our latest addition to the family is Sadie. She came to us from our good friend Mellie Boykin. Sadie originally belonged to Mellie’s mother, but they could not spend enough time with her and Mellie was going to find a home for her... So since we only had 4 dogs, what’s one more?
Joan started working for a pest control company in January. She runs the office. Fred finally has a hobby, wood turning, so when he isn’t working on one of Joan’s projects he gets to have fun. (not often enough f.)
Darlene continues to be healthy and stays busy with her projects. She enjoys puzzles (60 piece) and copies out of books and makes scrap books with old cards. So you can see our Christmas cards do get recycled. She really enjoys having her own bathroom and a bigger bedroom, since most of her time is spent working in her “office.”
Our pride and joy, William Henry Cole, arrived in May. Joan was privileged to spend his first week at home with him helping out Lynn, his mom. He is intelligent, cute as a bugs ear, and cuddly too. Fred and Joan went back to visit in September and hope to see him again during the holidays. David and Lynn have moved to Charlotte, NC to be nearer to her family. We are about 5 1/2 hours from Charlotte. They have a lovely new house.
Matt and Helen are still in Sarasota. Wish they would move up our way so the family could all be close. He has his own business restoring old cars and also does welding. Helen works for an attorney.
Mother and her husband Don spend 6 mo. in FL and 6 mo. in Canada. They are very happy and healthy for their age.
We do miss our friends in Florida, but our move to the greater Atlanta area has been good, and we are making new friends. So to all our friends and family may you have a joyful Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year.
....And for heaven’s sake come visit us!!!
Here is the dogs with our tree this year!
